The generation and transmission of vibration and noise in pipeline filled with water is the pop trouble which many people want to study all the time. In this paper, the noise and vibration characteristics of cooling seawater pipeline system are researched by statistical energy analysis from the aspect of energy.Firstly, the excitation and transmission of main sources in pipeline system are described. The basis principle of statistical energy analysis and the calculation of some important parameters are introduced too. Referred to finite element, the results of dry pipe and fluid-filled pipe are discussed. It demonstrates that whether the statistic energy analysis is suitable for the vibration and noise of seawater pipeline system.Analysis of power flow transmission path and delicacy analysis are functions of statistic energy analysis; they are changing parameters of energy transmission path, and forecasting the effects on target system, so as to optimize the system, In this paper, the influences which pipe diameter, pipe thickness and joins fashion has on vibration and noise energy transmission in the system were analyzed, with the noise radiation from the outlet of pipeline system. Besides that, the result of statistic energy analysis can be validated by some of experiments. From the results, it is clear that the transmission characteristics of vibration and noise can be evaluated by statistic energy analysis quickly. So, it can provide the useful reference for first step design of seawater pipeline system. Some results of this paper are valuable for seawater pipeline design and fluid noise control.
