This paper is composed with two parts thereinafter: Firstly, introducing which is comprised of the bottom scattering coefficient measurement equipment. Secondly, the research and development of the signal generator based on embedded system.Bottom scattering coefficient is the critical factor of bottom reverberation research. One of the important methods of researching bottom scattering coefficient is making use of experiment equipment to obtain it. This part firstly introducing what hardware device is comprised in the measurement equipment and the performance parameters in the part of device. The main content expatiates on the manufacture of the accidental wireless synchronization device, and making of the software of the acoustic array orientation emendation.The embedded system and DDS technique is used for the development of the signal generator. The 32 bit ARM microprocessor LPC2210 RTOSμC/OS- II and AD9852 with DDS technique are selected in the design of platform, which are based on making the signal generator. The main content elaborates on the designing and manipulate of the signal generator hardware platform, transplanting of the RTOSμC/OS- II, programming of the device driver byμC/OS-II and software application. The last, the signal generator basically reached the design requirements, which can generate a highly stable frequency-,phase-,and amplitude- programmable signals output such as cosine FSK Ramped FSK CHIRP BPSK signal, especially CW and LFM pulse signal which is often used in underwater acoustical experiment.
