Researches On The Effects Of Pile Cap To Pile's Lateral Capacity

There are many calculating methods of pile's lateral capacity, the methods and their advantages and disadvantages are summarized in this paper.The effects of pile cap are seldom considered in the calculating methods of pile's lateral capacity, pile cap's contributions to the lateral capacity of pile are often considered as the regular reserve as a safety, they are often ignored so that the calculations are easy and the practical answers can be easy gotten. But the effects of pile cap can't be ignored in practical applications, the researches on the lateral capacity of pile are scarce, it's necessary to research on the effects. It's very convenient to simulate the lateral force of pile by computer; it can not only save a lot of money and time, but also gain the precision we need. The lateral force is simulated by ABAQUS in the following aspects.(1) The results analyzed by ABAQUS and the actual results of the pile by experiments are contrasted so that the feasibility of simulating by ABAQUS is verified.(2) The lateral capacities of single pile are contrasted when there is or not a cap and when the size of the cap is different.(3) The lateral capacities of single pile are contrasted when the aspect ratio of the cap is different.(4) The lateral capacities of single pile are contrasted when the thickness of the cap is different.(5) The lateral capacities of single pile with or without a cap are contrasted when there is or not a vertical load.(6) The lateral capacities of single pile are contrasted when the depths of the cap are different.
