The bay and depth of existing small high-rise shear wall structure are too small to be separated to meet the demands to dividing the inner space freely.It is necessary to research the large-space small high-rise shearwall structure . The structure is no columns and no beams, and floor and shearwall are major load-bearing elements. The out-plane moments of shear wall, caused by the large-span floor, are considerate, but not be considered in the past design. So it is unsafe to the structure. With combination of theoretical analysis , structural mechanics and FEM,the out-plane shear wall capacity is studied thoroughly in the thesis from two-dimensions to three-dimensions and from single storey to multi-storeys. The various factors that influence the out-plane moment are analysed ,and the suitable slab span and thickness of shearwall are suggested .In light of the elastic thin plate theory and with single trigonometric series method , the deflection expression of slab under end moment and longitudinal pressure is induced. Using Mathematica software, the various factors and distribution rules of internal forces and deformation of plates are analyzed .Based on structural analysis method,using structural analysis solver , the author analyse the internal force of shearwall with different parameter combinations, and obtained the various affecting factors and distribution rules of out-plane moment of shearwall.Using ANSYS, the author established a series of shearwall models of different combinations of parameters and analysed shearwall in three-dimensions as a linear elastic problem. The author studied the stress distribution of the shear wall under the vertical load and the various affecting factors and degree of out-plane moment of shearwall.The out-plane capacity of large-space small high-rise shear wall structure should be calculated when the span is larger than 7 m,and wall thickness is not less than 220 mm in design.The floors where the out-plane moment is larger should be detemined , and vertical distribution steel bar in need in the shear wall should be calculated. Another analysis showed that the out-plane deflection of shearwall is very small,and it can meet the normal requirements . The method of this paper is a simple, user-friendly and safe design method for large-space small high-rise shear wall structure.
