The stronger lightning current steepness is one of the critical causes for its effect of destruction. Therefore in the lightning-proof process some artificial methods can be used to reduce the lightening current steepness so as to diminish its destruction to the tower or the other lightening points as far as possible. Based on the new theory of the Electricity anti-lightening rod, which appliance mechanism is thoroughly dissertated in this article, Electro-Magnetic transient Program ATP is applied to simulate and research the models and ultimately use the surge generator of high current to conduct simulating experiments in the high-voltage laboratory. By theory analysis, simulating models and experiments, it is proved that Electricity anti-lightening rod can effectively reduce the lightening steepness and overcome the incompatibility and restriction of working frequency, endurable power and through current capacity of traditional anti-lightening device. Since Electricity anti-lightening rod adopts general integrate circuit components instead of nonlinear components, it greatly reduce the cost. Meanwhile, the general integrate circuit components are much durable than the sensitive components, aeriform discharge tube and solid discharge tube, consequently the product itself is more durable. The experiments show that Electricity anti-lightening rod can effectively reduce the lightening steepness and the voltage of tower top. The simulation result is credible and the effect of reducing the steepness is obvious. Electricity anti- lightning rod provides a new method for the electrical power system.
