| This thesis centers on the study of satellite ATM networks based on On-borad computer system. At first, it analyses the error characteristics of the satellite channel links, and does some research on a proper and capable scheme of error correction code based on ATM cell. Considering the long latency of satellite links, we improved a satellite nerwork delay model and discussed the impacts on the delay of satellite links. It is also presented how to simplify the implementation of ATM protocol and improve the real-time features in the system as one of the important emphasis in the thesis. The thesis gives an integrated design and implementation of satellite ATM networks system from the hardware to the upper applications. And then it brings out full-scale tests to prove the validity of the design. |
