Vector hydrophone is able to measure the vector information of sound field, such as pressure gradient, particle velocity, particle acceleration and so on, have solved some questions that can not been deal with by pressure hydrophone , so have been applied to various field of underwater acoustic engineering widely. Therefore, it is very important to calibrate vector hydrophone. At present, calibrating this kind hydrophone, in free-field or equivalent free-field, has been adopted diffusely, but it exists some questions to low-frequency vector hydrophone, so a method calibrating vector hydrophone in plane standing-wave field is presented in this paper.It is various to form plane standing-wave field. This paper applies the method of vibrating column of liquid; derive sound-field distribution by normal-wave method, and present the calibration formula of sound pressure sensitivity of vector hydrophone in standing-wave field.The vibration modes of low-frequency and high-frequency standing pipe are analyzed by Ansys finite element software and the distribution of sound field is simulated, at the same time, the simulation solution and theory value are compared.Low-frequency and high-frequency transducers are assembled in corresponding sound pipes, which make up of two calibration systems of the vector hydrophone sensitivity and directivity. Low-frequency and high-frequency standing-wave field are verified, and compared with simulation solution and theory value, and little error. Sensitivity and directivity curve of a vector hydrophone are presented by compare method calibration in low-frequency standing-wave field. The results indicate that the measure error of this equipment is very small.
