Research On Renewal Of Urban Waterfront In Jiaxing City

Urban waterfront regeneration is an important subject in the urban development in our country. Considering the upsurge of urban waterfront development, this thesis discussed the necessity and urgency of urban waterfront regeneration in Jiaxing based on the problems faced by the small and medium-sized cities in China.The thesis first discussed the meaning and content of urban waterfront regeneration, then analyzed and summarized the theoretical study and practical experience of urban waterfront regeneration in and out of China. Meanwhile, according to the theoretical basis in this thesis, we thorough studied the urban waterfront in Jiaxing.The thesis systematically described the general situation of urban water system in Jiaxing, summarized the evolvement of urban water system and city space, discussed the relationship between the urban water system and city space, which also revealed the harmonization between urban waterfront regeneration and city space design. From the site visits and data collection and collation, the thesis briefly discussed the status and features of urban waterfront construction in Jiaxing. Based on the economic background of current projects in urban waterfront construction, the thesis systematically analyzed the existing problems from different aspects. Meanwhile, considering the particularity of urban waterfront regeneration and the history of Jiaxing city, the thesis also discussed and analyzed the special complexity in urban waterfront regeneration in Jianxing, which provided abundant theoretical and practical evidence and materials for further study on the regeneration strategy of Jiaxing urban waterfront areas.The thesis discussed the strategy and methods of urban waterfront regeneration in Jiaxing. Based on the above study, we proposed some plans from three different aspects, including strengthening the protection of ecological environment, focusing on overall coordination and emphasizing the construction landscape pattern. Our proposal is general considerations for space functional reorganization, traffic restructuring and waterfront landscape optimization, and we anticipated it would be a good reference for the future regeneration of Jiaxing urban waterfront areas.
