With enhances the speed of our country's railway lines, the accident of the train "fangyang" occurs frequently. Its reason mainly is the couping cock in the middle of the train was closed due to non-normal.Couping cock, installing at both ends of the train pipe, used to open and close the train pipe access to the air. In the course of train operation, it is necessary to ensure unimpeded train pipe access to the air. Therefore, the couping cock is opened are key factor to the train pipe access to the air is expedite and the train braking system is effective.So, it is very important to study the method about detecting the status of couping cock's Opening and Closing.In this paper summarizes two detection methods about the status of train pipe through-going and couping cock Opening and Closing. The one method is detecting the value of the pressure and the differential-pressure on train pipe. So we can use the air-filled time and the air-bled time of the change about the pressure to judge the status of the train pipe and the couping cock. The other method is estimating the status through measure the flux. So, if we can find a flowmeter that can measure the flux effectively and adapt to the actual conditions of the locomotive braking system, we are able to detect the status of train pipe through-going and couping cock Opening and Closing. So, this present paper put forward a detecting plan that installed the V-cone flowmeter on the pipe of locomotive air reservoir. This V-cone flowmeter has virtue of small volume, not sensitive to vibration signals, wide measurement range, excellent linearity, strong functions of self clearing and the internal pipeline is not easy to plug.It is very suit for the actual conditions of the locomotive braking system. Through detecting flux of the charging on train breaking system and observing the status of driver controller, we can estimate the status of train pipe through-going and couping cock Opening and Closing.This paper takes the V-cone flowmeter as the research object and introduces the theory analyzing and test researching of the flowmeter. Based on the design of the machine, the model of the equipment was set up and the emulation was made by hydrodynamics analysis software Star-cd. The result of the emulation shows that the bigger of the breaking series on the train breaking system, the more air was released in train pipe, the greater pressure was descend in train pipe and the greater differential-pressure was produced from the equipment of V-cone. This conclusion provides the theory reference for application of the flowmeter. At the same time, this paper takes the chip of the TMS320F2812 DSP as the core to complete the design,facture and debugging of the flowmeter's second equipment, which can measure veracious and display real-time of the train charging flux. Finally, the flowmeter was tested on the breaking laboratory of Southwest Jiaotong University. Simulation results are compared with experimental results shows that the V-cone flowmeter is reasonable. This flowmeter not only can be used in detecting the charging flux of the train breaking system but also can be used in detecting the other domain of flow measurement on train breaking system.
