Simulation Study On Acoustics Characters Of Car Muffler

With increasingly strict noise regulations of vehicle noise, car noise reduction in the automobile industry has attracted much more attention than before. Nowadays, most auto mufflers in China mainly rely on foreign company's technology. But the core technology and intellectual property are controlled by foreign company. This paper is based on cooperative projects with enterprise to study the structural properties for muffler. The aim of this paper is to do some preparatory work for the establishment of muffler autonomous design theory and method.This paper builds the muffler performance test bench by reference to national standards " GB/T4760-1995 acoustics-- measurement procedure for silencers", and makes insertion loss measurement. Then, the paper compare the simulation result with the test result to make sure the accuracy of the model. After that, this paper has changed the inner structures of the muffler to different formats and made the simulation of acoustics. Finally, summarizes different structural properties of the muffler.
