With the economical and social development in China, the public activities, represented by those exhibitions and celebration events, attract more and more attention of the people. These activities exist as some public events which have more or less influence to the public space. They enrich the leisure life of people, while change the landscape of the built environment. Meanwhile, they have become one of the most attractive elements of the public space. Contrary to the stand as one of the three most important elements of landscape architecture and the vigorous practice of such landscape, the research of the people's behavior and landscape impact in those events haven't gain enough recognition. This thesis mean to do some base research of the " event landscape", which is the main object of this thesis, to disclose some rules of the development ,the structure ,the significance and the application to some extent.The analysis based on two main axes:Chapter 1 collects and analyzes the background of the research and related theories as a whole in order to make the stand of event landscape in knowledge coordinate. Then in Chapter 2, the thesis defines the connotation of the event landscape and explains the experience process.After that, the thesis leads the analysis to two poles, the history research and the application research.The Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 displayed the whole prospect of the event landscape through comparing of the event landscape in China and the western historical context and the typology classification of the event landscape.Subsequently, the Chapter 5 focuses on the Mega-Event landscape. It analyzes the relationship and the significance of such landscape and probes into to the methodology of the design and some specific technology. Finally, thesis uses the real case of Expo 2005 in Aichi to discuss the application of event landscape planning on the level of built environment.At the end of the thesis, the Chapter 6 concludes the outcome and the shortage of this research and sets forth the perspective of the further studies.
