Strength Check And Stowage System Design Of Ship Based On Digital Table Of Offsets

The research of strength calculation for ships is very important to ships' safety study, and it's also a key step in ship's loading system. Many experts do a lot of effective work. While for some bulk carriers, especially Capesize and Panamax, because of inadequate bonjean data at fore and aft compared with the complex molded lines there, difficulties may exist in the process of ships' strength check. The results with poor accuracy might come to need via data processing, but it's quiet complicated and time-taking to deal with these data. Furthermore, this doesn't work well sometimes. So a new calculation method for strength check and stowage is to be discussed here as many bulk carriers are designed larger at present.After a study in SDARI, this thesis put forward a fined computer-aided loading system based on table of offsets with guidance of my tutor. By this new calculation mode, after data structure established using table of offsets and light ship distribution, ships hydrostatic and bonjean data should be calculated utilizing ship's hydrostatic principles, which makes an effective strength check. Algorithms of numerical value integral and curve difference as well as imitate algorithms are used to obtain more accuracy results. Such a discussion of this new calculation mode is really beneficial to ships' stowage planning design, which made ship management more accurate,dititalized and scientific .Firstly the paper presents elementary calculation and check methods in the view of stowage plan for bulk carriers.
