Abstract/Summary:
Oil tankers as one of the three main cargo ship, the hull structure improves with the continuous shipwreck and disastrous marine pollution to the sea. The structure of the hull undergo from the first style by a single shell to the recent style by double bottom and double-shell, although it increases the capacity of preventing pollution to the environment, but it also reduces capacity of the hold. It is reported that the tankers' lightweight will be increased by about 20% with double-hull and double bottom compared to single-shell tanker, the freeboard will be increased also, the main measure of the hull will also be changed, the setting of double-bottom will increase the deadweight's center of gravity, and the requirements of stability will be upgraded also. In the state of ballast, there will be a great level of freedom, so it is necessary to carry out the rectification work for free surface. Therefore, under the premise both of rule, it is a main problem that the ship-owner concerns to increase the capacity of the hold as far as possible by attention to the technology of shipbuilding, the structural intensity, and other restrict elements.At present, the inside shell of the oil tankers are designed by handwork, and be repeated modified in AutoCAD until meeting the requirements, which depends on experience of the designer. After the design of the inside shell, it also forms a date of the subdivision by handwork, and calculate capacity of the hold. If it is not satisfied the requirements, we have to modify it again. So it is a heavy and inefficient work, and the outcome of the design mostly depends on the designer's experience. To solving this situation, this article studies on the following four aspects:1. Study the rules relation to the subdivision of the oil tanker, including MARPOL 73/78, Common Structural Rules for Double Hull Oil Tankers, Rules and Regulations for the Construction and Classification of Sea Going Steel Ships;2. Combining with design experience, study the criterion of the inside shell design,which from the rule requirements, structural strength, construction technology, maximizing the capacity of the cargo oil hold and so on;3. Develop the design system of definition to the oil tankers' inside Shell, rapidly define cargo tank and ballast tank base on the lines, make three-dimensional visualization browser of the subdivision, and can quickly get the date of the subdivision, which make progress for the following calculations; 4. The results show that the system gets the correct aims, and it provides a powerful tool for quickly subdividing of the oil tanker.
