As a passive cooling equipment, the thermal probe has high-effective heat change. It can stop the thawing which arosed by people in the roadbed of highway or railroad in order to enhance the stability of the roadbed, and it is a kind of effective method to protect the roadbed in permafrost. With the maintenance of the Qinghai-Tibet highroad and the complete of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, the thermal probe has been used in Qinghai-Tibet plateau, and has brought obvious effect. As the using of thermal probe, designing a system to test the state of the working thermal probe has become a problem which should be solved quickly to the people who is using the thermal probe. It is difficult to test the working thermal probe, because thermal probe is used in places with high altitude, execrable weather and serious interfere.This paper focuses on the research of testing technique in working thermal probe. By the analysis of data from lab and spot, the temp represent in thermal probe's cooling part whitch reflect its working state is summarized. The relationship between working state of thermal probe and the temp of the weather is found. And the influence of the interfering facts to the temp collection is also found. The best time to operate the temp collection and a way to distinguish the good probe and bad probe are educed. This article designs a system to test the working state of thermal probe, and offer a doable process of testing. The whole system composes by a nether controller and an upper controller. Nether controller is used to collect the temp data of the thermal probe. According to the request in data collection, a contiguously temp collect equipment which uses platinum resistance temp-sensor and based on MSP430 is been designed. And a temp collect software which uses for infrared temp-sensor and is based on PC is designed. The upper controller composes by a thermal probe working state analyzing software. The upper controller analyse the state of thermal probe according the data collected by nether controller, and to show the result in many forms.The system has been tested many times. The equipment can adapt the execrable weather. And the way of data collection can reduse the serious interfere greatly. The analytical software can distinguish the broken probe. This system has great meaning both in theory and practice, and is also domestic originated.
