Important progress has been made in previous research of Multi-Ribbed Slab Structure (MRSS). But researches of Performance-Based Seismic Design (PBSD) need studying deeply. The paper combining the MRSS's characteristic is devoted to some important questions of PBSD, including structural life-cycle cost, cost-effectiveness criterion based structural performance objectives and damage- reduction seismic design. The main researchs are follows:Life-cycle cost is basic question of PBSD. The paper gives the model of initial cost with MRSS based on the domestic and foreign studies. Structural failure cost evaluation based on Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation avoids much analyse of structural failure probability. The paper gives the method of Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.Cost-effectiveness criterion and individual performance objective is basic idea of PBSD. The paper puts forward the performance objectives of MRSS and researches several key problems including seismic design methods and seismic design classification.Damage-reduction Seismic Design is effective tool to carry out PBSD of MRSS because MRSS is according with the idea of Damage-reduction Seismic Design. The paper puts forward Damage-reduction Design model and method of MRSS and researches some key problems.
