At present, for many reasons special daylighting designs don't be included in a great deal of architecture designs in our country, which debases indoor comfort and increases lighting energy consumption. And if daylight is taken good use for lighting in daylight, large amount of lighting energy consumption will be saved. Especially, in medium and small buildings with simple shape and layout, some daylighting methods can be used to obtain enough daylight in sunny days.Under this circumstance, the paper discusses the status and reasons of the using lack in daylight in our country, and provides some solutions. With the help of foreign experience, the paper analyzes windows of medium and small buildings either for mono-floor or multi-floors as well as average daylighting assistant systems in both separated and integrated ways. Further more, construction details and design methods suitable for medium and small buildings'daylighting designs are given, and hopefully to help architects to improve daylighting quantity and quality.
