The urban material space is a comprehensive result which people made use of city planning and urban design as well as single building design and that concentrated various social civilization outcomes such as technique, art, culture, economy,etc. at that time to constructed. Cities,depending on modern civilization and modern technique, are not so solid and safety as we imagined. Once the city becomes the headstream where the disaster engendered, stored and diffused. Being construction guidelines and implementation measures, city planning and urban design should undertake the responsibility that can't be evaded at this time.Urban design as a whole thought and arrangement of city form and the space environment paid much attention to the design of landscape traditionally, while neglected deeper exhumation of urban space structure along with diversification and complication of city material and social environment, which usually makes city space excessive visualization and functional compressed.This article aims to discuss a trend which combines urban design to city disaster prevention. It puts forward that"Space design"and"disaster prevention function"should be combined organically to strengthen various functions of the city space and landscape formation comprehensive additional attribute. So to create a way of city design which oriented developmental trends of current society, humanities and nature?When the prevention and control of city disaster become to another important function after urban space, living, working, recreation, transportation and planting etc.,disaster reduction and disaster prevention from the point of view of city design will have actively realistic meaning.
