When human beings come into 21st century, advanced technologies have made great contributions to develop every department which comes down to the national economy and the people's livelihood, besides the fundamental vocation like power industry which sustains developments of national economics. As kinds of new technologies have been used in power system, in order to reduce total installed capacity and improve labor productivity, scope of power network is increasing day by day, so manipulative and protective steps are becoming more complicated. After modern measurement technology is extensively applied in power system, too many data have been obtained by scaling. Thus the method which is being calculated every time cross section one after another not only could not utilize information sufficiently, but also its quantities of calculation are too much. So the idea of time-process oriented is used in this paper, by which the characteristic cross section is studied and every time cross section is not computed concretely and the quantity of work is reduced tremendously.First of all, the definition of process is presented in this paper. Then the maximum actual cross section, the minimum actual cross section and the middle actual cross section is defined. Methods of being distilled the three cross sections are educed according to the before-mentioned definitions.Secondly, the distilled middle actual cross section is applied into day-ahead trade of power market in this paper. Traditional curve of load forecast in day ahead trade of power market is time-internal and ladder-shaped. When the curve is not in the same, the conception of process load const is put forward in this paper, and it is considered that the process load const can be the total load of day-ahead trade of power market.Further more, it is theoretically proved that total load of process at actual middle cross section is in the shape of process load const, and it is also proved that total purchase electricity fare can reach the minimum value when the total load is used in this way, and the linear coefficient of generation company's bidding curve is not great or the load is not changing greatly.
