With the development of automotive industry, energy crisis and environment pollution problem are increasing. And now, many countries have established emission control regulations to limit engine and vehicle exhaust emission, including CO,NOx and PM etc. However, with the continuously increasing of greenhouse effect and energy crisis, many countries have already put out regulation to restrict emission of CO2. Many engine and vehicle manufacturers are studying low fuel consumption technology, so does FAW.CA6DL2-35E2CR engine development was described in this thesis, this engine is equipped with comman rail system to realize low fuel consumption and meet EUROâ…¡emission level, the main works are :DOE technology study. using DOE technology, multi parameter and multi target optimization problem can be solved,measurement point was reduced, and finally developmet time and cost can be reduced.Engine automatic calibration and optimization system study. According to AVL automatic calibration and optimization software CAMEO, its frame and function was analyzed, this software was used to optimize engine 13 mode emission result.Electric control engine performance development study. DENSO Comman Rail System is equipped on CA6DL2-35E2R, the engine must be limited by emission level, cylinder peak pressure, exhaust temperature etc, and then realize low fuel consumption.Improved vehicle performance prediction. After evaluation, in order to make vehicle have better performance, engine performance was developed again, and then we got new engine fuel consumption data.
