Studies On Culture Trait Of Public Sign In The Historical Environment

The historical and cultural environment is important successor of traditional culture in modern city, and it is the basic factor of city identity. However, with the rapid development of society, many historical heritages are suffered destruction and fade away. This not only destroied the historical style and features of the city, but also result in culture trait of environment disappeared.The sign is the language and the messenger of the environment, and it is one important factor of visual identity of environment. Therefore, the dissertation launched into investigation and analysis of public environmental sign in Xi'an Qujiang new district, basing on the culture trait of public sign. The purpose is to guide the designer pay more attention to the culture trait of public sign in historical environment, then improve the historical environment, regain the memory of city, and make some progress to protect the city identity.The dissertation is started with the basic concept of the sign, and it focused on the analysis of public environment sign in Xi'an Qujiang new district concretely, basing on the environmental culture trait of Xi'an Qujiang new district. Then it intend to concluded some fundamentals of sign design and discussed the significance of its guidance in design, basing on the importance of environmental culture trait. At the same time, it discussed the means of each design factor in sign, from the correlative subjects with the guidance of fundamental.
