Large electric shovel is the main equipment when exploiting strip mine. It can achieve completely mechanization. It has the characteristic of high automatization, good property of environmental protection. The efficiency of excavation is high, and progress is rapid, quality is reliable, and maneuverability is good. According to new the planning and deployment of our country,we will construct and extend some big coal mine, copper ore and iron ore. This shows that we will need many bigger excavators.The revolving frame and triangle structure mechanisms are the important constituent of an excavator. The revolving frame supports almost the whole gravity of the excavator and the impact from the exterior load. So the capability of the revolving frame and triangle structure are very important for the whole excavator .It is obvious of the importance to analyze the structure of the revolving frame and triangle structure.In a general way, the revolving frame is connected by the front and back part. They are connected by the bolts. The middle part is welded by the different thickness armor plate and cast steel. The primary destroyed formats are the positions welded , the fatigue destroy and the affect from the libration fountain when an excavator works. Far the way ,it can make the excavator invalidation.When a company became to design a new model of excavator,an argumentation to the project of the structure of the revolving frame appeared. Because the structure is very large, and the loads are very complicated, the work environment is very wicked. If the structure of the revolving frame is unreasonable, there will be very serious aftereffect .In this paper, the problem will be researched, and the static and modal analysis to the structure.The paper recurs to the mature software of ANSYS to design the models of the revolving frame and the large mining excavator. Then the revolving frame model is set up .Owing to the complexity of the model of the whole large mining excavator, it will consume too much resource of the computer when emulation is carried on. So the model is predigested and gets hold of an simple one. The parameter of the original was schlepped into the simple model.In this paper, three typical work states are selected. They are as follows. The first status is when the handle is holded out entirely, its direction is vertical to the central line of the arm. This time, the bucket starts to dig, the arm is pressed seriously. Because here the bent moment, force produced by the push force and the gravity of the arm is the supreme. The pressure to the arm from the advance force and the pull force from steel rope is also biggest. The wrest moment , the force produced by the side force is closely supreme. The second status is that when the handle is holded out entirely, and its direction is horizontal. The revolving frame turns around with the bucket carrying the entire materiel. When the revolving frame turns around, the inertia force and the acentric force will happen, they will bring the additional force.The second typical state is when the revolving frame has the biggest angle speed. The third state is when the position of the arm and the handle is the same with the second state, and also, the revolving frame has the biggest angle acceleration. The dynamics response is also the important criterion to assess an excavator. In this paper, I have analyzed the modal of the triangle structure and the revolving frame.In this paper, it is selected of the FEA technology to analyze the revolving frame and triangle structure of the excavator. The getting results and methods for the revolving frame of an excavator using the static and dynamics simulation technique, improving calculated accuracy efficiency, reducing product design cycle, improving product quality and reliability, consequently can bring obvious economic benefit.
