With the rapid development of modern technology, more and more electronic equipments become to be large-scale, high speed and hierarchical. An invalidation of any components may cause performance deterioration, even fatal accident. So fault detection and diagnosis technology is very important. Traditional fault diagnosis technology can be used in simple systems, but when applied to larger and more complicated ones, it's ineffective. As artificial intelligence technology's rapid development in recent years, especially the application of Expert System, Artificial Neural Network and Fuzzy Theory, all of these provide a new approach in the development of intelligent fault diagnosis system. With the in-depth research into fault diagnosis, we have found that single intelligent diagnosis technology can't guarantee satisfactory results on complicated electronic equipments. So the idea of integration of several intelligent technologies to form a hybrid fault diagnosis system is introduced.Focused on electronic equipment fault diagnosis, this paper makes some researches on both the theory and the implementation of combining Expert System, Fuzzy Logic and Artificial Neural Network together. After discussing their respective characters, a hierarchical model is put forward. Using this model an intelligent fault diagnosis system on electronic equipment is implemented on the VC++6.0 and MATLAB platforms. In the end an example applying the above system to diagnose a radio receiver proves that the hierarchical model is appropriate and effective.
