Cycloid steel ball planetary transmission is a new type of precise mechanism which has no backlash, construction compact, bearing capacity strong and transmission efficiency high. The accuracy requirement of precise transmission for the modern industrial is more and more high. The drive accuracy is measured by error, and so the error analysis of cycloid steel ball planetary transmission is particularly important.This paper according to the theory of error and precision, the error assessment project of the cycloid tooth profile error is made and the content of error analysis research is determined against the detection and the processing of cycloid plate tooth profile at present state. The affect relation between the structural parameter of cycloid plate which is an important part of the transmission and the error of tooth profile is analyzed. The calculation of tooth profile error formula is established base on the cycloid equation of tooth profile.The detection methods of tooth profile error are researched. The base tangent is selected basis on the characteristic of cycloid tooth profile, and formula of base tangent length of cycloid tooth profile is deduced.According to drive principles of equi-speed output mechanism, some types of the equi-speed output mechanism which could ensure no reverse error drive property are analyzed. The drive error source of the steel ball slide groove mechanism is analyzed. The drive error formula is established by using equivalent mechanism theory. And the regular change of the drive error is analyzed according to software.The drive accuracy of cycloid steel ball planetary transmission is researched. The error sources which effect the transmission accuracy is analyzed including manufacturing error, assembly error and so on. A mathematical model of drive error about cycloid steel ball planetary transmission is set up, and the formula of comprehensive drive error is deduced. The distribution rule of drive error is analyzed by the probabilistic method of error assessment principle, and the statistical formula of drive error is deduced.
