A Study On Revetment Construction In Garden

Water in garden gives birth to revetment, the rapid development of which in ancient gardens was actually fomented by our ancestor's fondness of waterscape. Thanks to nowadays miracle of economic development of our country, the study of revetment in garden which increasingly shows the tendency of interdisciplinaryness becomes the branch pertains with both landscape architecture and water conservatory. However, as a result of such a dual-disciplinary attribute, the study of revetment in garden appears in deficiency from both from the two disciplines. All the issues above along with the fact that construction designs by nowadays landscape architects of increasing number come out directly from individual experiences even whims rather than scientific verification are the resources of this discourse.This dissertation engages in discussing the derivation, development and essential functions of revetment in garden, analyzing potential threat to the stability of them and different types of dilapidation of them, advancing a set of principles as well as practical methods for garden revetment construction best fitting our country, exemplifying researches and analysis of some typical stratum-construction designs of garden revetments, and eventually providing paragon analysis as complementarity.This dissertation also summarizes typical measures of construction designs of natural and manmade materials in common useing garden revetment in our country and delimits their fitness of use.
