This thesis investigated the subject of village-in-city redevelopment which is a rather new branch of redeveloping old siatricts of city. The goal of sustainable development of a community is to achieve a clean, elegant, tranquil environment in a contextual urban planning fabric with complete supporting facilities to make life and work more convenient.The village-in-city redevelopment could not only facilitate developing urban land use reasonably, optimize urban spatial context, implement city planning, but also could improve the living environment, promote city image, accelerate urban modernization, expand domestic demand, increase the grow of economy, and eventually benefit urban economic development and create a harmonious society. Therefore, the published policy of city government of shijiazhuang requires: village-in-city redevelopment must follow legal procedure, adhere to higher starting point and higher standard, ensure qualities of construction, function and environment.Based on on-site investigations and analysis of lots of related information, and by combining theoretical research and typical projects, this thesis thoroughly studied the existing patterns of all types of village-in-city in shijiazhuang area and proposed planning schemes. It also utilized current literature and all sorts of statistic data. By comparing different village-in-city redevelopments in other cities in China, this thesis did a systematic research on present village-in-city redevelopments in shijiazhuang area, analyzed related issues and tried to search for the scientific theory and method.By combining academic research, actual practice and industry regulation study, this thesis tried to fill in the blank spot in this field in the Chinese architectural study. It's concluded in this study that village-in-city redevelopment must adhere to scientific development ideology and sustainable urban development.In the first chapter, this thesis introduced the theoretical foundation of village-in-city redevelopment, and addressed its necessity and inevitability. The second chapter focused on inductive analysis of methods, approaches and formats that has been used by different cities on village-in-city redevelopment. Chapter Three addresses the context and condition of village-in-city redevelopment in shijiazhuang area. The fourth chapter introduced some case studies of village-in-city redevelopment in shijiazhuang area. In the epilogue, based on the research conclusion, this thesis summarized the success and lessons in the village-in-city redevelopment process in shijiazhuang area, at mean time outlined the prospect for the future village-in-city redevelopment. |
