A Research On Urban Renovation Of City Village Settlements In Jiaxing Inner City

China has entered a fast urbanization period since the reform and open policy, during which China's economy increased rapidly and the amount of urban lands enhanced greatly. Because the city expands continuously and the construction speed is so quick, lots of farming lands around city should be expropriated by the government in order to meet the demand of city development. At the same time, some villages are surrounded by the urban and turn into city villages. The paper focuses on this special phenomenon. It taking Xinahu Village in Jiaxing city as the example analyzes the problems in city village renovation from the aspect of city planning. The preface of this paper discusses the background and meaning of the city village renovation. The research emphases are advanced. In chapter two, the paper paraphrases the definition of "city village", and describes this unique and prevail phenomenon in china clearly. By Putting forward the city village's characteristic, formation reason and exist problems, it illustrates the necessary and emergency of renovating the city village. Through the examples of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shaoxing's city village alteration, it proves the city village renovation is not a simple process to change countryman to townsman, and country buildings to town buildings. On the contrary, it is a complex work involved in city renewal and benefit adjustment of villager.In chapter three, it analyzes all kinds of problems in city village, and then discusses the approaches of city village renovation, including the ways of reconstruction and alteration. The article also expatiates some other possible solving methods for it.In chapter four and five, city village renovation in Jaxing city is explained. The experiences and problems of this practice are summarized. The last chapter summarizes all the important points in this paper.
