The marriage of architectural and technological innovations has been a leading trend in the international architecture scene. However, this trend has shown little evidence in China. Through many examples, this thesis reviews the integration of architectural and technological innovations in other countries, the collaboration of demonstration projects with foreign agencies and the current state of architectural innovation in China. This work reveals both opportunities and barriers for the building industry in China. A domestic example included in this thesis is the China Water Conservancy Museum, which the author had participated from design to delivery of construction drawings over the period of two years.
