With the development of science and technology, the application of computer has sunk into all the fields of the society.The improvement of computer graphics, computer geometry and the CAD/CAM technology have been used extensively in mechanical engineering.Gear is one of the most important accessorys in mechanical design, incompatibilty resulted from using conventional maths to deal with fuzzy information is pointed out .Based on the problem of gear transmisson design ,the fuzzy mathematics theory is applied to gear transmission. The system of gear transmisson fuzzy optimization is developed based on Pro/Engineer.There are more practice significance and application value of the research of the paper. What finished in this paper include follows:1. Based on theory of involute gear design and the requirement of project, the system structure is proposed and several key technologies in develpoment process is exlpained.2. Based on the fuzzy optimal theory,the model of gear fuzzy optimum design is set up. With fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and optimal cut set,the model is transformed to general optimization.Finally,the fuzzy optimum design model has been compared with commom optimum design and the comparison shows that the proposed method is superior to the latter in terms of profits.3. The method of program for gear 3D model is proposed.The datebase of Pro/Engineer is accessed with Pro/Toolkit and the system of gear model is set up.4. The system of gear transmisson fuzzy optimization is developed based on Pro/Engineer.With the system ,the optimal results are got and gear 3D model can be set up automatically.5. The method adopting quadric development template and family table to automatically create engineering drawing of the gear is proposed.The datebase of the system is setup and all parameters can be saved, queried and changed,the efficiency of drawing can be improved greatly.
