Study On The Problem Of The Veiw Of Time And Space In Environmental Design

The original intention of this thesis is to analyze the view of time and space, from the point of view of environmental design. The study, which focuses on the practical and guiding principles, is based on previous researches. Literature materials and spot survey are adopted as well. The frame of this thesis is organized through studying the relationship among space, time and people.The thesis consists of six parts. The first part emphasize particularly on mentions of conception and background, which begins with the discussing about time and space in environmental design. In the second part, the composition of space is discussed in detail, including the design language, design procedure and the mode of composition as well. The third part, which mentions many kinds of aspects such as the change of day and night, the four seasons and history, etc, analyzes the so called absolute change of time particularly. The other side of time, that is the relative change of time, is paid attention to in the fourth part, from the perspectives of space series, space sense and personal time experience. From the aspect of human's behavior, the fifth part deals with how the view of time and space fits the need of human's behavior. After summarizing the above theory, the last part explores the guiding significance of the view of time and space by means of making research into practical projects.
