With rapid urbanization,the number of motor vehicles increased sharply,and the contradiction between traffic demand and supply is intensifying.The intersection is the basic node of urban road network.The imbalance of space-time resources collocation is characterized by mismatch between the channelization design and the signal control,thus causing traffic congestion,low intersections efficiency and the increase of vehicle delay.The research object of this paper is the intersection with the intersections with left-turn short lane,and the purpose is to meet the capacity demands of entries and to reduce the delay by configuring space-time resources rationally.First,on the basis of the existing research results of intersect channelization and signal control,this paper analyzes the relationship between space-time resources of signal-controlled intersections,focusing on the relationship between the short lane design of and the signal control.Consequently the space-time resources optimization strategy of the signal-controlled intersection is put forward.Secondly,based on the variation rules of the dissipated flow rate during the green time at the intersections with leftturn short lane,a signal timing method suitable for intersection with left-turn short lane is put forward.Thirdly,the influence of temporal resources and spatial resource allocation on intersection capacity is studied,and the intersection space-time resource transformation law based on the space-time equivalence is found.Then,the space-time resources optimization model at signal-controlled intersections is built.The control parameters are the length of leftturn short lane and the effective green time of every phase.The optimization objectives are minimizing the average delay of vehicles and minimizing the variance of traffic saturation at key lane groups of every phase.Finally,an intersection is used as a case to verify the accuracy and validity of the model.MATLAB is used to solve the model,and VISSIM is used to simulate to compare and analyze the operation of the intersection before and after optimization.
