Crawler crane is one of the necessary equipments and weightily type in project construction at hoist industry. As main bearing weight structure of the crawler crane, the design and manufacture quality for boom system are important influence to the safety of the whole machine, especially in the great tonnage cranes. The failure of the boom raised and damage to the boom result from the little rigidity of the long boom. The auxiliary bracing is a vital factor in the boom system. The deflection and the bearing weight condition can be improved obviously.Based on the project of crawler crane series, cooperating with Xuzhou Heavy Machinery Co. LTD., in order to confirming the influence to the boom system's stress and deflection to guide the design work, researching the length, the installation position of the auxiliary bracing.(1) The deflection harmonization term of the single boom system with auxiliary bracing and the influence degree of the main factor are obtained through the Timoshenko theory of the beam enduring axial and radial load. And the rationality and feasibility of the result is testified by means of the finite element analysis.(2) Taking the combination main boom for example, the deflection harmonization term of the boom system with auxiliary bracing is obtained, through developing the formulary of the variational section beam's deflection. The finite element model of the boom is established firstly, on condition that the stress and the deflection are in the permission scope to guide the research on the auxiliary bracing.A theoretical foundation is proposed for the design to the crawler crane.
