Development Of Automation Camshaft Flexible Measuring Apparatus

Camshaft of automobile is one of the key parts of engine, the mechanical process precision of camshaft will affect the unitary performance of engine. Camshaft parameter measuring apparatus is a kind of instrument which can check the mechanical process precision of camshaft. Combine with practical situation of camshaft production, a kind of automation flexible camshaft parameters measuring apparatus is given by this paper. The apparatus discussed in this paper can check the mechanical error of camshaft, such as pulsation of camshaft's journal, distance between two camshaft's sensitive end face.First, mechanical structure, measuring processes and philosophy of measurement principle of camshaft parameter measuring apparatus discussed by this paper is introduced, and the precept of measuring apparatus's electric control part is set up. The function of each circuit module which makes up the measuring apparatus are also described. Measuring processes, such as workpiece holding action, the processes of stylus's location, the displacement sensor's result readout, are packed by the measuring process control and data acquisition sub-system. The data acquired by the sub-system are sent to an industrial computer via RS232 interface of this sub -system.
