The camshaft is an important component in Valve Gear of the Diesel engine,its function is to control the opening and closing of the valve,and then to allow the gas distribution mechanism to carry out the whole process of ventilation.The machining accuracy,quality of camshaft and the cam profile will directly influence the technical performance of the engine.Therefore,it can improve the machining precision and the quality and further to be a guarantee,if selecting the appropriate processing technology for camshaft.In this paper,the type C camshaft in the marine generator diesel engine of Yuchai Machinery Co.,Ltd as the research object to carry out processing technology research and improvement.Mainly around the limit in the process of production and processing of quality and equipment constraints,which will resulting in the problem of insufficient capacity,so as to improve the straightening,drilling,grinding end face concave cam,cam rough milling process or the processing content.Finally,it can make use of the existing processing equipment to research a suitable road of processing line for the type C camshaft to scale produce,stability control quality and to meet the market demand.The research contents to be done are:First of all,this paper introduces the characteristics of the camshaft and its basic process.The domestic and foreign research on the processing technology of the camshaft can be introducing.According to the problems in the production,the processing technology and the key working procedure of the type C camshaft are analyzed,and then those problems of the improvement can be putting forward out.Secondly,according to the current bottleneck,the main research contents are determined;The feasibility analysis of the rough milling of the cam in the process of CNC high speed crankshaft milling machine;Producing the fixture;Selecting the cutting tool and the cutter head;And Setting of process parameters for milling;The theoretical research on cam profile in programming;By MATLAB to curve fitting the discrete points of cam lift;And uses the spline curves to carry on the interpolation;Using the resulting data to prepare the program;Milling cutting testing and analysis;Finally,the perfect result is that the milling process can be improved to meet the technological requirements.Through the study and experiment proved that the improved methods for the type C camshaft machining process can effectively solved those problems,which about the straightening,hole machine and milling cam,concave cam grinding and so on,during the camshaft actual production.Finally,the purpose can be achieved and the process can be consolidated.
