Since the over-high temperature of the hydro-generator influences its normal operation, even causes failure, the heat problem of the hydro-generator has received considerable attention. In the first part of this article, on the basis of the analysis of the heat mechanics of the hydro-generator, directed toward the outer-movement accidents of the stator lamination silicon sheet of the SF-K50-30/6400 Hydro-generator, the three-dimensional thermal field and stress field of the stator of the hydro-generator were calculated by a simplified method with the help of ANSYS software. By analyzing the results qualitatively, the causes of the malfunction of the electric generator were obtained.In the second part, ANASYS software was used to analyze the thermal-stress coupled-field analysis for 135MW steam turbine rotor under the cold starting-up condition. Thermal-stress and strain were calculated under the same boundary conditions and initial conditions. With the analyzing of the result, the influence of stress value due to the presence of gland sealing grooves in the simplified calculation was specified. It's of great significance to the future simplified calculation which used to look for the danger point.
