With the development of electrical power industry, higher requirements of dependability has been raised to the electric equipment. To improving the peak load capacity of power network, it is the trend that the large capacity steam turbine units take part in peak load operation. So the online monitoring system of thermal stress which can enhance unit's safety and economy during the steam turbine's start-up and shutdown has become one of the top topics of electrical power system. During the steam turbine being started, stopped or load changing, it bears high stresses . Rotors are the most important component in the steam turbine, and it is the primary object which should be supervised online.This thesis simulates the wall temperature of the high-pressure and the intermediate-pressure cylinder as the temperature of rotor surface and use the recurrence formulas to calculate the temperature field of rotor. After considering the stress's concentration and synthesis, we can build its model of stress field.Last, put the theories into practice developed by Delphi program to supervised rotor's thermal stress and guide the operation of stream turbine on starting, stopping and operating which can keep the unit the most optimum operating condition.
