Hydraulic elevator is one of elevators, the key interest of which is aimed at the reduction of energy consumption and enhancing speed control performance. The main control valve of the hydraulic elevator has the ability to control the direction of flow and the safety, which has a great effect on the convenience and the realization of speed control of the elevator, also the cylinder is another important element of the hydraulic elevator, which drives the load directly. The paper contents include the design of the main control valve and the single rod symmetrical cylinder. Furthermore the article is of great value academically and practially.In chapter 1, the history and current research status of the hydraulic elevator and cylinder are introduced based on a lot of the publications and conference papers. The velocity control technology of the hydraulic elevator and some kinds of cylinders are mentioned, and the function of the main control valve and single rod symmetrical cylinder is mainly described. The research aim and significance are described.In chapter 2, the structure of the main control valve is designed, and the characteristic of static property is calculated. The main control valve is designed , which aimed at lowering the pressure ripple of the elevator hydraulic system and the valve pressure lose, therefore raising the reliability and control property of the hydraulic elevator.In chapter 3, the dynamic equation of the main control valve and simulation model are set up. The effects of dynamic hydraulic resistance, spring rate, control piston diameter on the start- shut characteristic of the main control valve and both the positive and negative flow characteristic are analyzed using the software of AMESim.In chapter 4, the single rod symmetrical cylinder is designed based on stability and strain analysis of the cylinder tube. The structure principle of the new type cylinder is analyzed, the course of the cylinder design is mainly described, and the strain of the cylinder tube is analyzed using the finite element software of ANSYS, confirming the tube strain within the installation dimensions permission of sealing element.In chapter 5, some conclusions are given and some new views are put forward in the future.
