With the more and more rapid change of market requirements and the development of advanced manufacturing technology, especially the growing of various advanced production modes, enterprises are forced to adapt to the rapidly changed market and to obtain the interests with the least cost in order to win in the globalised commercial competition. In this thesis, according to the resource and the current condition of Bohai Piston Company Ltd. Binzhou Shandong, production mode of piston production line is investigated and applicated. This research will enhance the flexibility and capacity of rapid market fitting in the piston production process, and will reduce the sorts of wastes and factors. This research will also reduce the fluctuations in piston manufacturing, and build a firm foundation for the enterprise to strengthen its capacity of competition.This thesis mainly includes such research tasks as follows. The state-of-the-art of development for productive mode, the theory and characteristic of advanced production mode are briefly reviewed. The significance of the research is presented.The decomposition of piston processing characteristic is given and encoded according to classification by means of the theory of group technology. Piston manufacturing processes are reconfigured based on the equilibrium theory of production line procedure. The result shows that the equilibrium is improved, the piston processing time is distinctly shortened and the number of equipments is decreased significantly.The facility layout for piston production line is renewed based on principle of shortest material flow handling. And this obviously shortenes the material flow route and improves the ratio of space utilization, and put foundation for light-handed manufacturing by changing the closed-manufacturing cells into the opened ones.In this thesis, research and practice are also made from management perspective as pull production management based on JIT(just-in-time) theory , TQM(total quality management), machine failure handling management based on TPM(total productive maintenance) and strategy of light-handed scheme etc. The result promotes the efficiency...
