Sonar Signal Simulator is one of the important equipments used in the debugging and mensuration of performance parameters of sonar system. With the serial and synthetical development of sonar equipments, the development of Sonar Signal Simulator takes on the trend of standardization,universalizalion and digitalization. To meet the need of research on some sonar system, the paper designs a digital torpedo noise simulator, which can conveniently provide real-time and multi-parameter sonar signals in the digital format for the debugging of sonar system.On the basis of summarization of the simulating technology of sonar signal, the paper firstly analyze the mathematical models of radiate noises of ships and torpedo and simulates in computer; it also tests the correctness of some pivotal methods through the simulation. The design scheme of torpedo noise simulator has been brought out on the basis of PCI bus and DSP TMS320C5416, which is the hardware platform that generates some kinds of sonar signals. At last, GUI in VC++ language is used to set parameters of radiate noises of torpedo. It can also be used to display and analyze acoustic noise.On the platform of torpedo noise simulator, analog signals the simulator produced can accord with the sound-field characteristics of the targets of torpedo and ocean environment. It also provides more accurate signal forms for sonar processing system flexibly.The research idea in the paper can offer some constructive inspirations to modularized realization, regroupment and avoidance of iterative development of sonar system.
