Recent years, with the rapid development of economy , the industrialization of city and commerce, the demanding to buildings is increasing fastly. The contradiction between population and limited land is sharpening. Especially the business of dwelling house is expanding and the merchants of estate pursue profits ,what's more, the government ask to beautify the visage of city. There are many buildings about adding a story gabled frames to 6 stories masonry structure in Urumqi area. But there are many problems on the design of the building, such as without uniform codes and standards for design and lack the theory for design.This paper analyzes the feasibility and theory evidence as additional load according to code for seismic design of buildings and load code for the design of building structures .The paper puts forward a kind of predigest account method aiming at these problems by the feasibility analyzes of the gabled frames as additional load and defining a magnified coefficient through analyzing the level earthquake force at the floor of this building according to the code for earthquake This force is in the total building and the gabled frames as additional load multiply a certain magnified coefficient. Then the paper puts forward a method by contrast to project example in order to estimate the rationality of the method which is used in the designing institute. The account of the project adopts the method of the paper and the other two methods from the designing institute. The conclusion is that the methods from the designing institute are not well to the building.The paper offers some advices of predigest account method for the structure and eference and theory for such the actual engineering by using PKPM software.
