Based on the analysis of various hybrid excitation synchronous generators, appropriate structure of hybrid excitation synchronous generator is proposed. Nd-F-B permanent magnet material and several rotor structures is analyzed, the radial excitation rotor with flat magnet steels and pole shoes is presented because of its high performance;The permanent magnet excitation part and electricity excitation part are calculated;generator was designed and checked through calculation program Vc++.Designed and manufactured a model machine, the influence rules of the performance and the structure parameters on the voltage characteristic are analyzed, the model machine is also optimized;A regulator circuit consist of benchmark circuit, compare circuit, checking circuit, trigger circuit for system checking circuit is designed to output steady DC voltage at variable speed and variable load;The mathematical model of the generator is presented and its corresponding simulation models and programs are got using a toolbox of MATLAB named simulink. The simulation results are close to the test results. The influence of accumulator to the generator is analyzed, the results are validated through simulink.
