The permanent-magnet and electro-magnetic for common excitation is adopts by the hybrid excitation generator for vehicle application. Specific power of generator is increased, excitation current and excitation loss are reduced, and efficiency of generator is improved. The hybrid excitation generator is equipped with good adjustment characteristics as well as advantage of high power density, high efficiency and high reliability of permanent-magnet generator.The operational principle of hybrid excitation generator is discussed, the design method that magnetic field of electro-magnetic can control magnetic field of permanent-magnet completely is proposed.Based on the method, the computer design program is compiled.The structural parameter and performance parameter are designed and calculated. Based on conception of density of magnetic energy, the working point of the permanent magnet is optimized; utilization ratio of permanennt-magent material is increased. Using equivalent magnetic circuit method, the model of magnetic path is established. Permeance and flux of permanent-magnet and electro-magnetic are analysed and calculated. The mathematical model of no-load characteristic is calculated using double reaction principle and superposition, the relation of voltage balance and vector diagram is obtain,all of work made foundation of electromagnetic design of hybrid excitation generator. The stabilized voltage arrangement of controls consisting of reference circuit, comparison circuit, control circuit, trigger circuit and H-bridge circuit is put forward. The effect of component values to output characteristics of generator is analysed. The stabilivolt regulator of the hybrid excitation generator with optimal parameter matching is designed.The hybrid excitation generator with rare-earth permanent magnetism claw-pole type rotor and bmshless claw-pole type electricity excitation rotor ,coaxial and parallel connection, commonly using the same armature winding is designed, air gap magnetic field is adjustable in the generator and output voltage is stable.Its main performance index satisfies design requirement and possesses good stabilized-voltage characteristic.
