With the economic and manufacturing globalization, manufacturing enterprises must ensure quality in the context of research and development to shorten product cycle for fierce competition in the market place. But the product designing methods and modeling in existence have some deficiencies, such as, 1. They can only describe geometric information, but the designing process is infected by many non-geometrical factors; 2. They ignore the utilization of designing experience which is gained during product designing process. Having studied at the existing modelling theory, we put forward the concept of product physical models. It will not only describe and record mechanical parts, the geometric components of information, order information, product assembly information but also described the load, intensity, rigidity, and other physical information. In the physical design process based models of management theory is a breakthrough in product design. This article aims to establish a physical model based on the product design process management system, through the effective management of records for product design information related to the design process, It will realize the use of design experience. Project is sdudied on the platform of CAD software— Pro/Engineer envienrenment. Through examples of the system development and engineering applications, we can attest to the design process based on the physical model management system contribute to the achievement of design experience in important positions , shorten product development cycles,and their market competitiveness is improved.This paper is developed in 6 chapters. The detailed physical models, product design process and the management of design process for physics models is introduced. The realization of prototype system is introduced by examples of projects . Chapter I introduces the subject by the analysis of the existing design theory and methods inadequate, and points out the information integration, utilization shortcomings, and a product of physical modelling methods merits on the basis of the research presented major problems ~ the management and utilize of design process and organization of the text; Chapter II introduced products physical models, including physical models definition, architecture, data structure, organization and modular product design process based on physics models;Chapter III introduced the operating principles of physics models in the product design process, including the establishment of the initial models, additional relations definition, the initial information retrieval, the design and assembly...
