With the development of intelligent manufacturing technology,Model Based Technology has gradually become the main choice of three dimensional digital support environment required for product design and manufacturing.Therefore,based on the 3D digital definition of the product model which is the Model Based Definition,application of Model Based Technology in parts manufacturing and assembly for process planning and process simulation has become an important part of building a Model Based Enterprise.And it is one of the important development trends of intelligent manufacturing technology of the future.In this paper,the typical components and its assembly process of a general aircraft product are regarded as study object.By analyzing the product structure and assembly features,the assembly level division,assembly sequence and the main assembly process(step and process equipment)are determined and the overall assembly process planning is completed.On this foundation,by importing product structure design information(product MBD model),assembly process planning information(assembly hierarchy division and assembly sequence)and assembly resource information(assembly tooling model,etc),the PPR assembly process structure model including product,process and resource is constructed,on DELMIA software platform.And detailed process content design is finished.In accordance with the assembly process structure model,the assembly process simulation is carried out in the DELMIA environment to verify the rationality of the assembly process plan.According to the verification results,the PPR model and process content are modified and perfected,and the visual assembly process specification file is formed to guide the site assembly.The synthesized application of Model Based Technology in this topic,integrating assembly information in the full 3D environment,including the product structure definition,assembly process datum,assembly relations,assembly sequence,and assembly fixtures and toolings,and so on,in order to complete assembly process planning and assembly process simulation.A implementation model based general aircraft assembly process planning is discussed,which can provide reference for the assembly process planning of other aircraft,automobile and other complex products.In conclusion,using Model Based Technology,assembly process planning and simulation is performed,which integrates 3D product assembly information including product structure,assembly datum,assembly relations,assembly sequence,and assembly fixtures and toolings,and so on.A model based assembly process planning mode for general aircraft is discussed,which can provide reference for the assembly process planning of other aircraft,automobile and other complex products.
