This paper systemically reviews Confucian aesthetics thought, further studies Chinese ancient litterateurs' gardening thought and analyses Confucian gene in its developmental process. Emphasizing the process from the early religion to rational thinking, owing to Confucius inheriting the budding thought of the ancient landscape aesthetics and cultural tradition and exerting it creatively, it has been maintaining a close relationship between Confucianism and landscape aesthetics. Confucian thought on Confucius, Mengzi, Xunzi's behalf contributed much to landscape. First is that it systemically put forward the order of taste, the principle as well as profoundly grasped the way of taste. Second is that it constructed an ideal copy for the amenity-centered. Confucian thought not only established the direction of development and foundation for subsequent landscape aesthetics, but also provided multiple value orientation for litterateurs' life. At the same time, this paper starts with the contradiction between the scholar-bureaucrat and centralism in the feudal society, then, demonstrates detailedly how to form the landscape and the developmental trend of the landscape in the feudal society, as well as the recessionary inevitability of the landscape development to the end. Consequently, it makes us further get to know that Confucian thought played a significant role in the whole landscape developmental process.
