| In china more than two thirds of territory is mountain, there are a lot of mountainous cities in the central and western regions. In current large-scale and high-spirited urbanization, for the sustainable development of residents' living environment ,it's essential and urgent to research road traffic inside development project in new developed area in mountainous cities.As one sub-topic of the mountainous city design, this paper illustrates the influence by road traffic factor in the process of developing project in new developed of mountainous cities, from the point of view of urban design.Road is the framework of a project's design,which connects the different parts influences the steric order , landscape of city and building design, so most integration benefit of development project lies on nicer design of road traffic system. This paper researches the road traffic factor that influences developing project in new developed area in mountainous cities from the point of view of urban design, discusses the advantageous design strategy, and research the three aspects of road traffic factors, road traffic system, space environment of road and parking problem.The thesis includes five parts:First part (chapter one):exordium.
