A type of piezoelectric composites which called Cymbal piezoelectric composite transducer was systematically investigated in this thesis. We called it Cymbal transducer in short. It's a special type of piezoelectricity-metal composite materials. Because of the well characteristic caused by the unique of its configuration, Cymbal transducer will have abroad application foreground and worth of practicality in many fields as the new generation of the piezoelectric composite transducer.There were three kinds of polarized models for cymbal piezoelectric transducers: axial, radial and tangential polarized models. With finite element analyses method calculate the displacements produced by three kinds of models of Cymbal transducers separately. We decided to use the axial polarized model as our investigate object after comparing.With theoretical and emulational methods, we studied the properties of Cymbal transducer are dependent of the dimensions of metal endcaps and PZT thinner circle plate. And obtained the optimized dimensions.This thesis studied the reason of the hysteresis and nonlinear characteristic of PZT thinner circle plate and Cymbal transducer. Using the charge control method, we designed a high voltage direct current power supply to control the transducer. And it worked well in our test.To assemble the Cymbal transducer, we designed the tied implement. A stack of Cymbal was devised in the end of the thesis. And we measure the voltage—displacement curve through examinations which can provide theoretics for the transducer's use in mechine.
