Research On The Methods Of Subject Evaluation Of Urban Public Space In Kunming

This article, study about the urban public space of Kunming, adopts the methods from the Built Environment Evaluation(BEE) as well as some theories and methods of cross—subjects including psychology, sociology, environmental psychology and statistics. The aim of this article is to make a subjective evaluation of the urban public space in Kunming.The research indicates that the subjective evaluation which focuses on user's need differs from objective evaluation based on technical standards. The evaluation in this article takes people as the major factor of the environment, and people's demand of the urban public space as the major subject investigated. On the basis of subjective evaluation, this article make an investigate on research about people, place and space of the urban public space (pedestrian mall urban plaza urban waterfront space) by the methods of quantify analyses, materialization analyses and statistics. This article discover some useful ways about the P.O.E (Post Occupancy Evaluation) of urban public space by combining with mathematic theories of statistics. The research is hope to deficiency of the urban design, and to give some useful suggestions and methods about the urban public space design in a human way.
