For most rotors, the balance technics is regarded as absolutely necessary, which can prolong the natural life, improve the performance and the precision of machines, then obtain smooth and non-vibrative operating. Balance technics is raised following the appearance of rotational machine, and is becoming more and more important along with the appearance of generator, electromotor, centrifugal pump, compressor and other high-exact instrument. Balance technics includes dynamic balance and static balance. There are plenty of balance methods and means to meet different kinds of rotors.Balance is extremely important, especially important in practice to improve the precision of the instrument and equipment. Basing on the special structural spherical gyroscope rotor, this thesis raises one new static balance method suited this rotor. The primary contents of the thesis are listed as follow.(1) Briefly introduced gyroscope, the running environment that gyroscope provided for and the demand that gyroscope brought forward to the rotor. Researched and analyzed the balance technology's developmental status of high-exact spherical rotor in and out of abroad. Based on the status home, then put forward under solved key technology.(2) Researched and analyzed the influence to static balance of the rotor caused by the structure of gyroscope rotor, roundness, sphericity, dimensional precision, etc. non-spherical factors and surface roughness, the change of outside environment etc., which could react directively on the natural operating and machining of the rotor.(3) Basing on the special structure, material, especial running environment of superconducting gyroscope rotor, under the instance that there are not mature methods to measure the balance of the rotor, we developed a new feasible weighing static balance method. Theoretically analyzed this static balance project, we raised the concept design, according the concept design, purchased, worked out and machined the instrument, equipment that the experiment needed, set up the experimental measure platform.(4) After setting up the experimental measure platform, we could measure the balance of the gyroscope rotor. In the process of the experiment, we will confront lots of problems, and resolve them, through debugging, grope and more and more proficiency, obtained the experimental data by systemic experimental measure. According the experimental data, considering random error, systemic error and the error caused by other factors, dealt with the data using least squares fit to eliminate the impact of error, worked out the result, figured out the size and direction of the centroid offset of rotor, at the same time, worked out the balance precision of this experimental equipment.(5) At last, we summarized the experiment, put forward the measure that how to improve the experimental precision and looked into the future development prospect.
