With the increasing development of information technology , electronic technology and communication technology, the PLC also have been unprecedentedly applied in industry field. But the classical programming methods such as the instruction list, ladder logic or control system function chart .which have been employed until now have reached their limits .More and more customers want the display uniform , manufacturer - independent concepts , high-level programming language and development tools similar to those that have already been in existence in the PC world for many year.IEC 61131-3 is the first international standard of program language publicized by International Electrotechnical Commission in 1993. The publish of international standard IEC 61131-3 lead the programming language of different manufacturers go to the same way which are independent by itself . The international standard IEC 61131-3 promote the development of software technology for PLC and have a great and untouchable meaning for the advancement of control technology.As the aim of this paper, first is intended to give the reader an understandable introduction to the concepts and languages of standard IEC 61131-3, then to analyse and handle the problem will be appeared in the process of design and realization of programming systems based on IEC 61131-3. All the work in this paper can be classified as followes:1, Bring a review and summary of the development of programming languages. And give a brief introduction of the international standard IEC 61131-3. 2, Analyze and discuss the content of IEC 61131-3,include the softwaremodel , communication model and common element. 3, Given a soft-model of the programming system.. Then describe the mainpart in the model.4, Describe and conclude the function realization of SunylEC using use case-driven method, model the structure and running behavior of SunylEC using UML . 5, The improvement of PLC programming system and IEC 61131-3.
