Masonry multi-arch dam is one of the best types of dam of hydraulic engineering. It has many advantages, such as saving concrete, high availability of strength of material, obtaining primary material locally and so on. There are many computational methods on capping plate of masonry multi-arch dam, such as independent arch method, arch cantilever method, FEM, structural modeling, cylindrical method and so on. There are also many computational methods on buttress of masonry multi-arch dam, such as mechanics of materials method, elastic theory method, FEM, etc. With the development of computer, FEM becomes a very effective computational means on usefulness and use scope. There are not so much research on 3-D FEM analysis, stabilization measures and stabilization effect of masonry multi-arch dam so far. So more research on masonry multi-arch dam is done in the paper from following aspects:1. Masonry multi-arch dam is simulated with FEM program—ANSYS and stress state is discussed under every operating condition.2. Stabilization layouts are put forward and stress results are obtained and analyzed with FEM and independent arch method after stabilization measures are taken. And advantages and shortcomings of two methods are gained.3. Stress variation law about masonry multi-arch dam is brought up a and the final stabilization layout to Pingqiao masonry multi-arch dam is decided.4. stress state and Stability against sliding of buttress of masonry multi-arch dam is acquired with FEM and stabilization scheme are put forward. |
